Life Skills Tutor

Part-time position
Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm

Looking for a dependable individual to provide on-site Life Skills training at a Stars Family Services residence. Position requires the education, experience and ability to provide on-site training, supervision and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Must have the education and ability to train and supervise residents in life skills that would enhance the resident’s independence, including meal preparation, household chores, self-care and social skills, while maintaining a physical presence in the SFS residence.

Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, preferably with a major in Special Education, and at least 3 years of experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in the area of life skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Weekend Life Skills Tutor

Part-time position
Saturdays 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm
Sundays Noon-4pm, 4pm-8pm

Looking for a dependable individual to oversee and provide creative outlets for resident’s leisure time at a Stars Family Services residence.

The Weekend Life Skills Tutor maintains a physical presence in the home during assigned hours, ensures residents treat each other and staff with respect, resolves conflicts utilizing existing behavior plans while providing a positive atmosphere.

Two years of college-level education and two years experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
